Tramadol safety and precautions
Tramadol is a highly potent prescription drug and as with any prescription medication it requires certain safety measures and can deliver certain side-effects that can be unpleasant to the user. Taking the drug as indicated in your prescription label is a sure way to minimize the risk of experiencing any negative symptoms. However, Tramadol has a set of contradictions that you have to be aware about before trying to use the drug:
- history of allergic reaction to Tramadol or any of its components
- history of allergic reaction to codeine or any other opioids
- abuse or intoxication with alcohol, recreational drugs, sedatives or other painkillers
- serious live or kidney disorders
- taking any medications that contain Tramadol as an ingredient

In certain circumstances the dosage of Tramadol should be changed by your doctor. That is why it is very important to tell your physician if you have any of the following conditions:

- antifungal drugs, macrolide antibiotics, SNRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, or triptans
- appetite suppressants, buytrophenones, drugs for mental or mood disorders, MAOIs, other opioid painkillers, phenothiazines, sodium oxybate (GHB), thioxanthenes , or tiagabine
- other medications that include Tramadol as an ingredient
- rifampin, carbamazepine, anticoagulants or digoxin
Tramadol may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so it's highly recommended to not drive, operate any machinery or perform dangerous tasks that require concentration before you certainly know how Tramadol affects your perception. Hot weather, intense exercise and alcohol may also increase the risk of having dizziness with Tramadol, so try to not mix these activities while you're using the drug.
